The Lady in Black Goes GreenThe green flag will be greener than ever as it signals the start of the Darlington 200 and Southern 500 races at Darlington Raceway May 7-8. For the first time, all the electrical needs of these NASCAR races will be met with 100 percent Green Power.

Do The Light SwitchAnother 30,000 CFLs (compact fluorescent light bulbs) have gone out to the member-owners of Pee Dee Electric Cooperative. "Do the Light Switch" is the name of the South Carolina electric cooperatives joint effort to distribute 7 million compact fluorescent lights to residential members over the next 10 years.
69th Annual Meeting of Member-OwnersPee Dee Electric Cooperative, Inc. held the 69th Annual Meeting of its members at the Florence Civic Center on Saturday, October 25. Greatly surpassing the required number to meet quorum, 1,890 members of the electric distribution cooperative registered for the business session that was held beginning at noon.

Elections to the Board of Trustees are held, co-op business is transacted, a report is delivered by the President and CEO and members receive information on new services available.
Nearly $3.5 Million in Capital Credits ReturnedPee Dee Electric Cooperative will be returning $3,448,626 in Capital Credits to its member-owners from 1996, 1997 and 2007. As a not-for-profit electric utility, member-owners share in the success and efficiency of their cooperative.
PDEC Encourages Do the Light SwitchPee Dee Electric Cooperative wants its members to save energy, save money and be good stewards of the environment. That’s why PDEC has joined with the state’s other 19 electric cooperatives in a multi-year campaign to place 7 million energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) in the home of every cooperative member in South Carolina.
Pepsi Cola Announces New Distribution CenterPepsi Cola of Florence announces the plans for their new 155,000 square foot distribution center in the Pee Dee Commerce City. Pepsi has a long history in Florence beginning in 1936 as the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company of Florence servicing nine counties with only two trucks.
2007, The Best Year Yet for Pee Dee ElectricMember-Owners returned three trustees to the PDEC Board at the 2007 Annual Meeting, held Saturday, October 27, 2007. Louise Kelley, Dist. 4 (Hartsville), and Don R. Teal, Dist. 7 (Patrick), were re-elected without opposition. Jule Conner, Dist. 9 (Marion), defeated Harold Coleman, Jr. to retain his seat on the board.
